The Chukuni Communities Development Corporation is funded by Industry Canada for the purpose of creating and maintaining employment through small business development. Our goal is to help strengthen the economies of Ear Falls, Red Lake and the surrounding area by assisting local entrepreneurs in the development or expansion of a small business. The Chukuni Area of Northwestern Ontario is located north of the Trans-Canada Highway 50 km east of the Ontario/Manitoba border. The Municipality of Red Lake is located at the end of Hwy 105, 170 km north of the Trans-Canada Highway. The Municipality is comprised of 5 communities and some 5,000 residents. the Township of Ear Falls is located 65 km south of Red Lake at the junction of Lac Seul and the English River. The town is home to 1,300 residents.
Dryden Job Connect
Job Connect services help local youth between the ages of 16 and 24 gain the skills and knowledge necessary to find and keep a job. Our office is conveniently co-located with Service Canada at 41-A Duke Street in downtown Dryden. Office hours are 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday, with extended hours Thursday evening until 7:00pm.

Since 1984, Lake of the Woods Employment Action Project, Inc (LEAP) has been assisting youth, aged 16-24 find jobs. LEAP is a non-profit community service which provides employment counselling, support and on the job training to youth looking for work. LEAP's mission is to provide assessment, employment counselling, job and educational placement, assistance with access to appropriate community services and follow up services to youth and adults. NCDS will promote, develop, implement and administer community programs for youth and adults. The delivery of service is designed to provide education, skills upgrading, employment counseling, job search training and lifestyle management. We provide: *Information, job search advice and career guidance for young people and adults.* *An Employment Resource Centre that is open to the public.* *Specialized employment services for unemployed youth aged 16-24, students, and Employment Insurance Recipients.* *Workshops, including WHMIS & YWAP, First Aid/CPR, Smart Serve, Employer Expectations, Customer Service, Interview Skills, Skills and Trades, Resume and Cover letter writing and Internet Job Search. (Free of charge to Job Connect participants.)* A Job Development Placement Service for qualifying youth. Employer support services including referrals, assistance with hiring, training, and orientation of new staff, current Employment Standards information, etc. Training incentives (wage subsidies) for employers who hire qualifying youth.

The Northwest Business Centre is a provincial small business assistance centre developed in cooperation with the province, municipality, and private sector. Our mission is to empower entrepreneurs with the skills, advice, and resources needed to succeed in small business. Our services are free and are available to all community members including business owners, prospective entrepreneurs, youth, aboriginals and other minority groups, and people in certain government programs.

The Sioux Lookout Area Aboriginal Management Board was founded in November 1991 to address the employment and training needs in the geographical area. On April 1, 1999 SLAAMB became an Aboriginal Human Resources Development Agreement Holder (AHRDAH), which became responsible for the delivery of the Aboriginal Human Resources Development Strategy (AHRDS). Part of this responsibility included childcare in the Sioux Lookout Area.

The Dryden Development Corporation (DDC) was formed in 2007. This Corporation simplifies and streamlines the processes to help establish new businesses within the City of Dryden and surrounding area. The DDC acts as the City of Dryden's project delivery agent to meet economic development and diversification objectives relating to business retention, expansion and tourism.

The Northwest Training and Adjustment Board (NTAB) is one of twenty-one local boards established across the province of Ontario which are funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
