Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, faith-based housing program dedicated to eliminating poverty housing from the world. It seeks to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people from the broad spectrum of social, ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds to work in partnership to build homes and hope with families in need. Habitat was founded in the United States in 1976, came to Canada with the first affilate in Winkler Manitoba in 1985, and to Muskoka in 1999. Today Habitat builds homes in over 100 countries around the world.

The Muskoka Lakes Museum Volunteer Program offers a wide range of opportunities and experiences, from helping with a children?s program to running a tour. Depending on your availability and interest you could help with the Herb garden, run a Pioneer demonstration, staff the Gift Shop, or assist with one of our special events.
