Education/Employment Outreach Centre to assist community members in traning/education and employment. Job and resume counselling, education courses, training and job listings are some of the services offered. The centre can provide Ministry of Education accredited Grade 9 to 12 correspondence courses. Internet access and scanner, photocopier, job board, job bank and post-secondary school information. COMMUNTY EMPLOYMENT RESOURCE CENTRE
A community-based agency that provides employment resources to all residents of Northumberland County. CERC provides access to computers, the internet, fax machines, photocopier, telephones, message centre, computerized self-assissment tool (Choices), resource library, training information, and local/major newspapers. There is qualified staff to support you in your job search, including assistance with resume/cover letter formatting, interview preparation, general computer orientation, information and referrals to other community resources, CERC also offers "First Step", a 1 hour information session introducing the services and service providers in the community that are available for assistance while job searching. CERC also provides free job search support ahnd resources in the Colborne area through an outreach program
CURVE LAKE FIRST NATION EMPLOYMENT RESOURCE CENTRE
Offers the following services; access to computers and printers - 5 stations; access to the internet - 5 stations - high speed internet access; assistance with job search, job postings and training opportunities bulletin boards; assistance with Career Choice; provides information on apprenticeship and other training; devloping business plans; social services and benefits. Assistance with completing application forms such as Unemployment Insurance Benefits; S.I.N. (renewal or first); Birth certificates, Passports, etc. A resource library with books, audio cassette tapes and VHS video tapes.
WATTON EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
Watton Employment Services Inc., an Employment Planning and Vocational Counselling agency that receives funding from Employment Ontario, provides services to unemployed persons and/or individuals with disabilities or barriers to employment. Services include: Employment Counselling through which an Action Plan that outlines the practical steps needed to achieve employment will be developed; Training Options Group Information Sessions; Labour Market Trends Workshops; Vocational Testing and Assessment; Career Exploration; On The Job Training; Work Experience Programs and Job Coaching. For job-ready clients we offer the Job Finding Club, a 4-week job search program, facilitated by certified counsellors, which provides the job seeker with the skills necessary to find a suitable job within the shortest period of time. The agency's objective is to assist individuals with getting back to work, or with achieving their employment potential as quickly and successfully as possible in careers that are appropriate. Watton Employment Services Inc. is a member of the local Employment Resource Network, the Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, and an approved service provider for the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
